HELIOTHERM UVB HD lamps provides beneficial UVB, UVA, visible light, and heat from one source. In nature, sunlight provides the spectrum needed by animals in order to thrive. Indoor habitats require specialized lighting to meet the animals’ needs. UVB, UVA, visible, and infrared light are essential for reptiles, amphibians, birds, and countless other animal species. This lamp provides UVB and heat for vitamin D synthesis, in addition to UVA which is visible by reptiles, amphibians, birds, and insects.

While most self-ballasted mercury vapor lamps have a thin, delicate glass envelope, the HELIOTHERM UVB HD has a thick, heavy duty “PAR” glass envelope. This glass envelope is specially designed to protect the glass from impact and also from humid environments, while also allowing necessary UVB to pass through the lamp’s glass and into the habitat.

No external ballast needed. Available in 80 watt, 100 watt and 160 watt versions.
